Method Statement for Mobile Washing Units Using the

Drain Bung and Water Reclaim System

• Arrive on site and report to the transport office, sign in and ensure the manager is aware that you are present and available for work.
• Park the mobile wash unit in the agreed safe area so that you are ready to work.
• Bund the designated area.
• Place the sump pump in the bunded area. The water reclaim system is now ready to be operated.
• Commence vehicle cleaning as per the safe system of work for mobile vehicle washing.
• After cleaning vehicles for a period of 15 - 20 minutes return to bunded area and check that the area is filling with water and that the bund is fully secure. When satisfied that everything is in order switch on the reclaim system.
• Check that the reclaim unit is functioning correctly with water being reclaimed transferring into the vehicle onboard water tank. When satisfied that all is in order return to washing vehicles.
• When all vehicle washing is completed rinse down the vehicle wash area. When the wash area is clear and all waste water has been collected switch off the reclaim unit.
• Remove the sump pump and bund.

Method Statement for Mobile Vehicle Personnel

• Arrive on the site and report to the transport office, sign in and make the manager aware that you are present and ready for work.
• Park the mobile wash unit in the agreed safe area so that you are ready for work.
• Commence vehicle washing as per the safe system of work for mobile vehicle washing.
• When all vehicle cleaning is completed rinse down the vehicle wash area.
• Report to the transport office to sign out and make the manager aware that you have completed work.
